With it’s need for fast paced, dynamic graphics and the need to constantly remain at the forefront of interactivity with viewers, the music genre is now almost impossible to achieve with conventional automation and the vast range of discreet hardware and data components that are required to make a “normal” days schedule.

An almost impossible demographic of easily bored teens, means that music channels not only have to look good, be interactive and dynamic, but also have to constantly change their look, feel and hooks to encourage this difficult audience to keep viewing their channel/s.

 

  

The Nexus/Cobalt solution, overcomes all the problems of this demanding Genre in a highly configurable and dynamic branding solution. No longer is there a need to constantly go back to automation providers to re-write and develop new applications and interfaces to new equipment and then to try and automate this filed accurately. Even if this were possible with conventional boxes and automation, the task of the scheduler, even for a single channel (let alone multi-channel operations such as MTV, Chartshow, Technicolor etc.; all Publitronic worldwide customers) would be almost impossible to achieve with all the secondary graphical and data driven events.

Nexus/Cobalt does away with the old convention of automation/scheduling and enables dynamic scheduling using our rules based Week Planner module, enabling schedulers to create a days /

 

weeks / months or even a years schedule based upon a potentially vast range of meta-data applied to a clip to dynamically apply rules based graphics, data; such as clip title, artist, genre, bpm, aspect ratio, dynamic data about artists etc., to be automatically applied to clips and then change this data on the same clip for time of day, type of program the clip is appearing in (for example, the same Madonna clip may have the channel logo,  clip name and title in a general music show, but have a totally different look and feel, with artist specific information, year, record company, background information on the song applied for a Madonna Special.

With the need to prevent viewers from becoming bored and “channel hopping”, the need to incorporate data from the viewers as part of the show is no longer a gimmick, but a

 

fundamental part of any music channel that needs to survive in the light of vast completion for viewers.  Nexus Cobalt makes it simple to set up new and dynamic ways of presenting data from SMS/MMS messages to data voting and jukeboxes.  It is no longer acceptable to the savvy teenage viewer to wait for 30mins or an hour to see the result of the clip they have requested in a Jukebox program.  It needs to be the very next song to play or they’ll be on a different channel and never bother paying to request another song.  Cobalt makes the integration to third party aggregators and telecom providers and gives all the tools necessary to the channel (or we can do it for you) to change the look and feel daily if necessary for how these shows are presented/branded, keeping the viewing experience new and dynamic and most importantly for the channels, keeping their revenues high.
